Volunteer Board

Join us for Waynestock, a community celebration supporting UMatter Movement and its mission to remind people that they matter while advancing mental health awareness, suicide prevention, addiction recovery, and connection throughout our community. Volunteers are asked to reach out to Bobby Hines directly for this one as they lock in the last few areas of need. Come enjoy the experience, connect with others, and help us continue building a movement where no one has to walk through life alone. You Matter. Your Life Matters. Your Story Matters.

In search of volunteers to join us on September 19th at 7:30 to join us for the parade as 'walk alongs' helping with community engagement. We have drawn zone 2 and are asking volunteers to be at the admin building by 9:00 am.

We hold a monthly community sale, last Saturday of every month. Proceeds from these sales go to support UMatterMovement.org and the 'non-profit hub' we have here in Independence. We are located at 10816 E 23rd St in Independence. We are seeking volunteers to help in advance of each sale to clean, organize, and tag items. Also seeking 'day of' volunteer support for each sale in two shifts, drawing people in, greeting, engaging with a smile and kind words, help with sales.

The UMatter Summer Lunch Program is an annual community-driven initiative dedicated to supporting children who may face food insecurity during the summer months when school-provided meals are unavailable. Volunteers come together to prepare and distribute ready-to-go lunches for kids who typically rely on free or reduced lunch programs during the school year. This program is rooted in compassion, connection, and action—creating a space where individuals can make a tangible impact in their community. By serving together, volunteers help ensure that every child feels seen, supported, and cared for, while addressing a critical need with dignity and consistency. You are signing up to help with delivery and distribution of pre-prepared meals. Another event has been established where volunteers prepare and wrap sandwiches and prepare with a side for delivery.
